About the position
Nextdoor Homecare LLC is seeking a compassionate and reliable female caregiver to provide part-time companionship and assistance to a retired lawyer experiencing early signs of dementia. The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, specifically from 12 PM to 4 PM. The caregiver will be responsible for providing companionship, transportation to physical therapy appointments, and running errands as needed. This role is crucial as the client is currently in need of support due to the temporary absence of their regular caregiver. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to shadow the current caregiver for a few days to ensure a smooth transition and to understand the specific needs of the client before taking on the role independently. The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of experience in home care, although this is preferred rather than mandatory. The caregiver must demonstrate patience, compassion, and reliability, as the client requires not only physical assistance but also emotional support during this challenging time. Responsibilities
