About The Position
Anson Correctional Institution, located in Polkton, North Carolina, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Correctional Officers I, II, and III. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the care, custody, and control of offenders within the institution. This includes monitoring offenders' activities, maintaining security protocols, and responding to any incidents that may arise. The role requires a strong commitment to safety and security, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with offenders, staff, and the general public. The Correctional Officer positions involve various responsibilities, including touring assigned areas, observing offenders through closed-circuit monitors, identifying behavioral or medical issues, and performing general security duties to prevent escapes and maintain order. Officers will also be responsible for searching for contraband, monitoring movement within the facility, and maintaining accurate records of offender counts and assignments. The work schedule is flexible, requiring the ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as mandatory overtime when necessary.
