About the position

The HIS Operational SME at Parallon is responsible for maintaining operational standards during Health Information System (HIS) installations and upgrades, focusing on enhancing productivity, standardization, and cost reduction. This role requires a deep understanding of hospital operations, HITECH regulations, and revenue cycle information technology, while acting as a liaison between various stakeholders to ensure effective communication and implementation of best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Parallon standards during HIS installations and upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, productivity enhancements, and cost reduction.
  • Monitor performance to identify best practices and implement them across operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between BPG Corporate, service centers, and IT&S Product Development.
  • Communicate project status to leadership and drive decision-making for application and service-specific decisions.
  • Participate in various testing cycles including functional and user acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with the Education Team to design role-based training programs.
  • Evaluate end-users on proper application use and support during go-live events.
  • Develop best practice documentation and implementation plans.
  • Create and maintain management reports reflecting PTAC/HIM process accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial, operational, and system processes related to A/R Management.
  • Experience in scheduling, registration, and/or HIM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HITECH regulations and Meaningful Use requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital operations and revenue cycle information technology.
