About the position
The Histotech or Histology Technician position at a state-of-the-art laboratory in Destin, Florida, involves performing complex histological procedures and techniques. The laboratory is known for its innovative technologies and fully automated systems that enhance patient safety and accuracy in results. This is a permanent, full-time role primarily on day shift with some flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex histological procedures including grossing, cutting, staining, drying, and freezing tissue specimens.
- Prepare tissue specimens for routine and special procedures.
- Utilize automated systems to ensure accuracy and consistency in results.
- Track specimens using a bar code system to enhance patient safety.
Requirements
- HT or HTL ASCP Certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- Associate's Degree in Histology or a related field.
- Previous MOHS experience (preferred).
- Florida License (preferred but not required).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a fully automated laboratory environment.
- Ability to work with innovative technologies and techniques.
