About the position

MU Healthcare is seeking a Health Facilities Project Manager to lead construction and renovation projects within its healthcare system. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for coordinating diverse teams to enhance patient care and community well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Select tools, materials, and equipment to ensure quality construction standards.
  • Review work progress daily and prepare internal and external reports on job status.
  • Manage comprehensive construction schedules and assign appropriate resources.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors.
  • Plan and supervise a variety of healthcare construction projects from start to finish.
  • Organize and oversee construction procedures to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget according to requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and designers to determine project specifications.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule phases to meet deadlines.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and supplemental services, supervising the work of union laborers and outside vendors.
  • Prioritize in-house projects with executive directors for MUHC facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, interior design, architectural design/studies, engineering, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Building Trades Supervisor, or Construction Coordinator.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
