About the position

The HLW, Subcontract Coordinator - Civil is responsible for overseeing subcontractor performance in field construction, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgets. This role involves technical oversight, monitoring subcontractor progress, and validating payments, all while exercising independent judgment and construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of construction operations and subcontractor performance with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide technical oversight of subcontractor's safety, quality, schedule, and execution of work.
  • Support subcontract formation and monitor the Bid, Evaluate, & Award (BEA) process.
  • Monitor subcontractor's daily progress and report on cost and schedule performance.
  • Inspect the quality of subcontractor's work and validate monthly progress payments and invoices.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities with other work being performed on site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Ability to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
  • Physical capability to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical coordination of Subcontracts or Field Engineering.
  • Understanding of change management and configuration control processes.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering disciplines, cost, scheduling, and contracts administration.
  • Familiarity with government compliance standards and safety requirements.
  • Experience with Materials Testing including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
