About the position

The HLW Subcontract Coordinator is a supervisory role within the field construction organization, responsible for overseeing subcontractor performance and ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and budgets. This position serves as the primary interface between the project and subcontractors, providing technical support and coordination for the installation of Mechanical and HVAC systems. The role involves significant oversight of safety, quality, and execution of subcontractor work, as well as leading the turnover of subcontracted commodities to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary interface between WTP and subcontractor for coordination of off job site coating of steel and piping.
  • Provide technical support and coordination during the installation of Mechanical and HVAC systems and components.
  • Establish the primary interface between Construction Subcontracts, Turnover, Startup, and Operations.
  • Supervise the contracting, modification, or repair of subcontract commodities that do not meet Turnover criteria.
  • Ensure subcontracted commodities or facilities meet all requirements for Turnover.
  • Exercise independent judgment in resolving typical questions and problems that arise.
  • Provide technical oversight of assigned subcontractor's safety, quality, schedule, and execution of work.
  • Support Subcontract Formation and BEA process monitoring and report on subcontractor's cost and schedule performance.
  • Monitor and inspect the subcontractor's quality of work.
  • Validate subcontractor's monthly progress payments and invoices, and coordinate subcontractor's activities with work performed by others.
  • Lead turnover of subcontract commodities to Startup/Operations.
  • Lead team for the review and turnover of subcontracted commodities/facilities.
  • Prepare work for turnover to Startup/Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
  • Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Ability to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
  • Physical ability to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Nuclear Construction knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
