About the position

The Hog Service Technician position at Farmers Cooperative Society is an entry-level role focused on supporting the daily operations of the hog service department. The technician will provide customer recommendations, diagnose service problems, and repair or replace faulty equipment in swine facilities. Responsibilities

• Give customers recommendations on the best parts & equipment available at the How to Build Center.
• Diagnose errors or service problems to determine proper solutions.
• Repair/replace faulty parts & equipment in area swine facilities.
• Cooperate and communicate with service team and share information across the organization.
• Use tools associated with the repair of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, paying attention to unloading/loading trucks and moving equipment.
• Observe safety policy and procedure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate and understand mobile equipment.
• Possess mechanical skills to perform maintenance tasks.
• High level of customer service focus.
• Commitment to dependability and willingness to work to meet goals and deadlines.
• Approved safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience working with systems found in modern swine facilities (ventilation, feeding/watering, heating) is preferred.
• Experience in field service, animal husbandry, or a related field.
