About the position

The Home Care Aide position at At Home Care involves providing essential support to clients in their daily activities and personal care. This part-time role is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping others and want to make a difference in the lives of those they serve. Responsibilities

• Planning, preparation and clean-up of meals
• Giving bed baths or assisting with shower or tub baths
• Assisting with oral care such as brushing teeth or denture care when the participant is unable
• Providing assistance to and from the bed to a wheelchair, walker, or chair when a participant is weight-bearing
• Assisting participants with ordinarily self-administered medications (open bottles, get water)
• Performing light housekeeping tasks
• Laundering clothes and linens; making beds and changing sheets; shopping for essential items (e.g., groceries, cleaning supplies)
• Assisting with advanced personal care such as ostomy care, catheter care, performing bowel programs, administering non-injectable medications, assisting with insulin setup, and performing vital signs and weights

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• A minimum of one year experience of direct patient care with either a Skilled Nursing facility or an In-Home Care Agency is preferred
• Must have a valid CNA license
• Ability to assist the patient with walking through the use of a cane, walker, or gait belt
