About the position

The Home Care - Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at ABCM Corporation - Colonial Manor of Elma and Afton Oaks Independent & Assisted Living is a vital role within the ABCM Healthy Living Home Care program. Under the supervision of the Home Care Program Coordinator, the PCA is responsible for delivering compassionate and efficient care to clients in their homes. This role is designed for individuals who are dedicated to providing high-quality personal care services, ensuring that clients receive the support they need in a respectful and dignified manner. The PCA will engage with clients to assist them with daily living activities, promoting their independence and well-being. This position is ideal for those who are looking to make a positive impact in the lives of others while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. The PCA will work variable hours, primarily during the day shift, and may have the opportunity for part-time work. The role requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of clients, which may include working on weekends or holidays. The compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $16.50 per hour, depending on experience, with additional incentives available for shift differentials and years of service. The PCA will also have the opportunity to participate in the ABCM Healthy Living Home Care training program, which will enhance their skills and knowledge in providing personal care services. No certification is required for this position, although candidates with Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out services provided in the ABCM Healthy Living Home Care program.
  • Serve clients in a kind, caring, and efficient manner.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities to promote independence.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their families regarding care needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current, valid Iowa driver's license with proof of current vehicle insurance.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Successful completion of the ABCM Healthy Living Home Care training program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is accepted but not required.
