About the position

The Home Caregiver position at Desire Home Care, Inc. involves providing compassionate and quality care to clients in their homes. Caregivers are responsible for supporting clients based on their individual care plans, ensuring their comfort and independence. The role requires hands-on assistance with personal care, homemaking, and respite services, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Read consumer care plans to ensure understanding of the consumer's needs.
• Provide services in a compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Drive to consumers' homes to provide services.
• Accompany consumers to approved appointments using third-party transportation.
• Document mileage in the agency application according to agency process.
• Maintain consumer confidentiality and implement state-mandated reporting.
• Monitor and report any changes in consumers' conditions.
• Verbally report and submit written reports for all incidents and/or accidents.
• Utilize critical thinking to work effectively in a potentially high-interruption environment.
• Build and maintain rapport with consumers and their support circles.
• Exercise professional boundaries with consumers and their support circles.
• Utilize agency application to clock in and out for completed shifts.
• Manage shift time to ensure timely clocking out.
• Communicate changes in availability in a timely manner to lessen the impact on consumer services.
• Complete paid training on a yearly basis (virtual/in-person).

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Proof of auto insurance with employee name on policy.
• Provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Pass a background check and maintain criminal background clearance throughout employment.
• Negative TB Clearance (valid for 1 year or valid for 4 years for chest x-ray).
• Obtain and maintain valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must have a strong work ethic with a goal-driven focus.
• Ability to navigate the use of a cell phone and applications.
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting.
• Must work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
