About the position

The Caregiver position at Access Community-Based Services involves providing personalized support and assistance to clients in their homes, ensuring they can maintain their independence and quality of life. This role emphasizes building meaningful relationships with clients and their families while offering flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for clients.
  • Report observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager.
  • Notify the Agency Director immediately of any incidents or accidents.
  • Drive safely and comply with traffic regulations when business travel is required.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, nail care, and skin care.
  • Transfer patients from bed to chair and to wheelchair, and assist with toilet needs.
  • Perform household tasks essential to clients' personal care.

Requirements

  • Six months of experience in home care preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet patients' needs.
  • Ability to function in diverse home situations regardless of the client's background.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work harmoniously with clients and their families.
  • Commitment to the organization's goals, mission, and philosophy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs.
