About the position
The Home Energy Specialist position at the Center for EcoTechnology is an entry-level role focused on working with homeowners to identify energy efficiency and electrification opportunities. This remote position requires in-person site visits in Massachusetts, particularly around Worcester, and offers comprehensive on-the-job training. The role is crucial in supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy by conducting energy audits and providing recommendations for energy-saving measures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct energy audits of existing homes.
- Use software to quantify savings and produce reports documenting recommendations, including building electrification opportunities.
- Provide excellent customer service during and after the audit.
- Listen to customers to understand their needs and motivations.
- Clearly and intelligently answer customer questions related to energy efficiency and electrification.
- Effectively communicate recommended energy-saving measures.
- Follow up with customers as needed.
- Ensure that recommendations comply with program requirements for incentives and rebates.
- Conduct combustion safety and other diagnostic tests.
- Analyze usage data.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office.
- Strong math skills with an excellent understanding of geometry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and spend the majority of time in the field.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
Nice-to-haves
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in energy efficiency preferred with BPI certification.
- Familiarity with various utility program offerings and analyzing usage patterns.
- Experience with modeling software preferred.
