About the position

The Home Hardlines/Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and maintaining records of incoming shipments and routing them to processing areas. Responsibilities

• Verify and maintain records of incoming shipments.
• Route incoming shipments to processing areas.
• Examine incoming shipments and reject damaged items.
• Record shortages and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Match merchandise and quantities to purchase orders.
• Receive merchandise using handheld units and route to processing areas.
• Operate lift truck and pallet jack.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus six months distribution/service center experience and six months order filler experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends, any shift, and overtime.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and projects.
• Knowledge of standard product packaging and the ability to identify discrepancies.
• Familiarity with distribution center receiving terms and processes.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
• Six months company distribution/service center experience.
