About the position

The Home Health Aide/CHHA position at Comfort Keepers involves providing non-medical, in-home support services to ensure the comfort, safety, and general supervision of clients. The role includes companionship, assistance with daily living activities, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment for clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned on the plan of care.
• Assist the client with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and ambulation.
• Provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family members.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundering of client's garments and linens and changing the bed.
• Assist in meeting nutritional needs through meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, and kitchen clean-up.
• Remind clients to take self-administered medications.
• Observe and report any changes in the client's condition to the immediate supervisor.
• Establish and maintain effective communication and professional relationships with clients, family members, and co-workers.
• Participate in in-service and continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested.
• Complete required documentation of services delivered and submit to the office in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
• Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of any mandated training and Comfort Keepers training and orientation program.
• Ability to function in a home setting with minimal direct supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain satisfactory relationships with clients and staff.
• Genuine concern for helping people with high standards of honesty and integrity.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in home health care or a related field.
• Knowledge of basic nutrition and meal preparation.
