About the position
The Home Health Aide (HHA) position involves providing essential personal care and support to patients in their homes. The role is designed for individuals who are compassionate and capable of assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The position offers flexible scheduling options, including part-time, full-time, PRN, and per diem opportunities, making it suitable for various lifestyles.
Responsibilities
- Providing personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, changing bed linen, assisting patients with dressing and undressing, skin care to prevent breakdown, assisting the patient with toileting activities, and keeping the patient's living area clean and orderly.
- Planning and preparing nutritious meals.
- Assisting in feeding the patient, if necessary.
Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
- Must have a valid Certified Home Health Aide certification or be a Certified Nurse's Assistant.
- Must provide own means of transportation to and from patient's home and office.
- Must follow HIPAA and Medicare regulations when dealing with patient care.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
- Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured and in good working order.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Pediatrics
- Proof of registration on the Home Care Aide Registry through the Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau.
