About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Hospice is a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, providing essential personal care and support services to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role focuses on meeting the personal needs of patients, promoting comfort, and ensuring safety while adhering to the organization's compliance and care standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides personal care and support services according to a written plan of care.
- Maintains patient privacy during personal care activities such as bathing and grooming.
- Lifts, turns, and positions patients to ensure comfort and proper body alignment.
- Monitors patient areas for safety hazards and reports any issues immediately.
- Carries out basic infection control procedures and maintains cleanliness of patient supplies and equipment.
- Accurately records vital signs and other patient observations as directed.
- Completes documentation in a timely manner according to protocol.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and attends required education programs.
Requirements
- CNA certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR certification.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Valid driver's license with a vehicle in good working order and insured according to state requirements.
- High School Diploma.
