About the position

Right at Home is seeking compassionate, dependable, and respectful Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide care for seniors in their homes on Long Island. As an HHA, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with daily living tasks, ensuring their safety and comfort while allowing them to remain in their own homes. Your responsibilities will include preparing light meals, performing light housekeeping, and providing oversight and supervision to ensure the well-being of the senior clients. You will also assist with personal hygiene, medication reminders, and companionship activities such as reading, music, and puzzles. The ideal candidate will be reliable, caring, and experienced in providing personal care services. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living tasks to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Prepare light meals and perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Provide oversight and supervision to senior clients.
  • Assist with personal hygiene and medication reminders.
  • Engage in companionship activities such as reading, music, and puzzles.
  • Support clients with prescribed range of motion exercises.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with clients.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid HHA, CNA, or PCA certificate.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a full employment background check.
  • Reliable and consistent means of communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 months of experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities).
  • Driver's License - no car required.
