Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, and light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
• Assist with the use of devices for daily living such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Prepare meals and assist with special dietary needs.
• Perform assigned tasks as directed by a nurse, including changing ostomy appliances and reinforcing dressings.
• Help clients with prescribed range of motion exercises and self-administered urine tests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
• Current CPR certification recommended; training will be provided if not certified.
• Valid driver's license and access to an insured automobile for work.

Nice-to-haves
