About the position

The Home Health Aide position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission involves providing personal health care services and assistance with daily living activities to patients in their homes. This role is essential in supporting healthcare professionals and ensuring that patient care plans are effectively implemented. The position emphasizes the importance of communication, flexibility, and maintaining patient confidentiality while delivering compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare professionals by providing personal health care services to patients.
• Support patients with activities of daily living as specified in a written assignment.
• Maintain punctuality in returning calls and completing documentation.
• Establish effective rapport with patients, families, and co-workers.
• Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the Case Manager or Supervisor promptly.
• Provide care while respecting the patient's privacy and property.
• Follow safety measures when providing patient care.
• Document care activities clearly as per the HHA assignment.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and associates.

Requirements

• Kansas Home Health Certification (must be acquired within 45 days if not currently held).
• BCLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Current Car Insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• At least one year's employment experience as a Nurse's Aide in an institutional setting.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
