Responsibilities

  • Follow HIPPA laws and universal precautions.
  • Assist with maintaining body functions to prevent significant decline in range of motion due to aging.
  • Travel to patients' homes or facilities to provide daily living assistance.
  • Deliver individualized and high-quality care to patients facing life-limiting illnesses.
  • Use compassion, patience, and understanding to support families and patients with terminal diagnoses.
  • Respond to crisis and emergency situations, informing supervisors of developments as needed.
  • Utilize recognized techniques and procedures as outlined in agency guidelines and state regulations.
  • Provide positive communication techniques to patients and families, maintaining confidentiality and ethical care standards.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility).
  • Completion of a training and competency evaluation program that complies with federal and state regulations.
  • Registered and listed in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license and automobile insurance with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to recognize the needs of people and maintain good relationships.
