Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore their physical abilities.
- Follow state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care as defined by the supervising OT.
- Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
- Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising OT and healthcare team.
- Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
- Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy areas within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
Requirements
- Current OTA licensure in the state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
