About the position

The Quality Assurance Coordinator at Ameri Home Health and Hospice is responsible for evaluating patient care documentation to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. This role emphasizes process improvements and the implementation of clinical best practices, along with training staff on new or improved practices.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient care documentation for consistency and accuracy with the Comprehensive SOC/RC/ROC/DC OASIS Assessment and Plan of Care.
  • Process all OASIS submissions in a timely manner, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor charts for quality of care rendered, resolving any charting issues promptly.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and procedures related to clinical documentation and best practices, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ICD-10 coding and OASIS E for accurate documentation.
  • Identify and resolve charting and documentation issues to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in the development of in-services and training sessions for staff on clinical practices and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify areas for improvement in clinical practices and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records related to quality assurance activities and prepare reports for management review.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of OASIS E and ICD-10 coding.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff on clinical practices and quality standards.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance or clinical documentation preferred.
