About the position

Human Touch Home Health Care is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Administrative Assistant to join our team in Washington, DC. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the daily operations and administrative functions of our home health care agency. Your responsibilities will include managing incoming calls and inquiries from patients and their families, ensuring accurate and timely communication with all staff members, and performing general office duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, and managing mail. You will also be responsible for scanning and uploading patient information into our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, maintaining and updating patient records and databases accurately, and supporting the scheduling and coordination of non-medical staff members. In addition to these tasks, you will communicate effectively with caregivers regarding patient assignments and assist in the recruitment and onboarding process of new staff. It is essential to ensure that all documentation, including patient agreements and staff credentials, is up to date and compliant with regulatory standards. You will also assist in maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive patient and employee information, monitor and maintain quality assurance standards, and address concerns while escalating issues as appropriate to ensure resolution. Occasionally, you may be required to assist with non-skilled field visits to complete homemaking duties for patients. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families, possesses excellent organizational and time-management skills, and is detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, so the ability to prioritize tasks effectively is crucial. Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming calls
  • Manage incoming inquiries from patients and their families
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with all staff

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or relevant role
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of home health care services or healthcare administration desired
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families
