About the position

The Home Healthcare Aide / Caregiver position at New Life Home Care in Eastover, SC, involves providing essential personal care services to clients, including the elderly and those with disabilities or chronic illnesses. The role requires compassion, respect, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through various caregiving tasks. The position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, with shifts primarily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine personalized care in client homes.
• Monitor the patient's health and maintain up-to-date records of their physical and mental condition.
• Discuss patient progress with the case manager or supervisor and adjust care plans as needed.
• Direct the patient in prescribed range of motion exercises.
• Assist the patient with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Help the patient in and out of bed, the bathroom, chairs, wheelchairs, and cars.
• Perform simple housekeeping tasks such as changing bed linens, doing laundry, and tidying rooms.
• Handle chores like grocery shopping and food preparation.
• Engage the patient mentally through conversation, games, and other forms of entertainment.
• Accompany the patient to doctor visits and other outings, providing transportation as needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on patient care experience.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and SLED background check.
• 2-step TB test (if not current, will be provided).
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in home care (2 years preferred).
• CNA certification (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
