About the position

The Home Interior Designer & Sales position at La-Z-Boy involves designing and creating comfortable and functional environments that reflect clients' lifestyles, tastes, and budgets. The role requires a professional Design Consultant to utilize the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program, driving sales through effective customer engagement and design presentations. Designers have the potential to earn uncapped commissions on sales, with a base salary and additional bonuses, while fostering long-term customer relationships to enhance sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics and furniture recommendations.
• Execute the In-Home Design process according to company guidelines.
• Create grassroots opportunities to enhance the performance of the In-Home Design Program.
• Accurately complete order information, collect deposits, and maintain customer records.
• Support design-related functions in the store and maintain an updated customized portfolio of previous projects.
• Drive sales to achieve established In-Home program sales goals.
• Collaborate with management and the selling team to promote the In-Home Design program.
• Maximize store promotions and marketing initiatives.
• Ensure high standards of customer care and satisfaction.
• Train, coach, and develop Design Associates on product knowledge and selling skills.
• Assist with the maintenance of the store's visual appearance and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a relevant field.
• 1 year of experience in interior design (preferred).
• Strong sales and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of color theory and furniture sales.
• Leadership and management skills.
