About the position

Horizon Farm Credit is actively recruiting for a Credit Analyst to join our Home & Land team. This position is available at either the Mechanicsburg, PA or Mount Joy, PA branch location. The ideal candidate is an experienced, organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Credit Analyst with consumer underwriting experience. In this role, you will serve as a confident financial professional through the delivery of sound credit and financial services within regulations and policies. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately and efficiently analyze and underwrite loans in a sound manner to prospective and existing borrowers. You will work closely with Loan Officers to structure, condition, and approve credits for our borrowers, focusing on customer service and maintaining a favorable Farm Credit image. As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information, completing historical trends, pro-forma projections, debt repayment schedules, consolidations, stress testing, and other necessary schedules to support the overall credit recommendation. You will prepare a loan narrative summarizing the financial analysis, addressing the applicable five C's of credit, highlighting credit strengths, and documenting credit weaknesses to support the credit recommendation. Collaboration with Loan Officers to finalize credit recommendations is essential, as is obtaining necessary delegated authority for loan approvals. You will also need to stay familiar with internal credit practices, loan products, and compliance standards to ensure sound and eligible credit decisions. Effectively managing the loan underwriting pipeline and maintaining high levels of communication with lending and operations are crucial aspects of this role. Additionally, you may participate in association initiatives and engage regularly with cross-functional teams, as well as handle other projects and research as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or Finance.
  • One to five years of agricultural, commercial, or consumer credit analysis/underwriting experience required.
  • Sound credit judgement and differential credit skills for accurate and timely credit package completion.
  • Self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, innovative, and quality/solution focused.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a geographically diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
