About the position

The Home Safety Case Manager at Brightpoint plays a crucial role in supporting families and ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk of abuse or neglect. This position involves collaborating with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Child Protective Services (CPS) to provide in-home care, support, and supervision using the SAFE model intervention process. The Case Manager will work directly with families to prevent the removal of children from their homes, making a significant impact on community welfare.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with DCFS and CPS as part of a care team to support families.
• Provide in-home care, support, and supervision to ensure child safety and well-being.
• Utilize the SAFE model intervention process to partner with families facing allegations of abuse or neglect.
• Conduct home visits and meet with clients in various settings to assess needs and provide support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a social service field or relevant college coursework plus two years of professional experience, or a high school diploma plus three years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience working with families with children is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of typical and atypical child growth and development, as well as parent-child relationships.
• Understanding of maternal-infant health and concepts of child abuse and neglect.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
