About the position
The Home Tutor/Teacher position at Educational Support Group LLC involves providing personalized instruction to students who are unable to attend school due to various reasons such as medical needs, disabilities, or expulsion. This role requires licensed teachers to deliver educational support either in-person or virtually, ensuring adherence to the Common Core State Standards. The position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with students in their homes or other agreed locations, making it a vital role in supporting students' academic success.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction for students unable to attend school due to documented medical needs, pregnancy, disability, or expulsion.
- Utilize the Common Core State Standards in lesson planning and delivery.
- Contact guidance counselors for assignments and necessary materials based on students' enrolled classes.
- Conduct tutoring assignments in a virtual learning environment or at the student's home with guardian's permission.
- Collaborate with families regarding scheduling and instructional needs.
- Provide reports and grades on students' progress every 4-5 weeks based on district schedules.
- For students with disabilities, provide IEP progress monitoring data every 4-5 weeks.
- Complete electronic daily logs for instruction provided, detailing date, subject area, and focus of instruction.
- Administer State Standardized Testing for students unable to attend traditional school settings.
- Obtain parent/guardian approval for time worked during each pay period and submit time worked for processing.
- Return all materials and books to guidance counselors upon completion of a case.
Requirements
- Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate/License in Regular Education or Special Education.
- Ability to provide both remote/virtual services and in-person services.
- Bilingual teaching skills are encouraged.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in special education or working with students with disabilities.
- Familiarity with Common Core State Standards.
