About the position

The Home Visitor is responsible for planning and implementing home-based child development and health services, as well as family support services, in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Illinois Learning Standards. This role involves weekly visits to families in their homes or chosen locations, along with bi-monthly group experiences for children and parents. The Home Visitor utilizes ongoing assessments to tailor services to each child's needs, ensuring optimal progress towards school readiness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement home-based child development and health services.
• Provide family support services based on best practices.
• Serve each family weekly in their home or chosen location.
• Conduct group experiences for enrolled children and their parents twice a month.
• Utilize ongoing assessments to ensure individualization for each child.
• Maintain records and implement a comprehensive, individualized education program for each family.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a Home-Based Child Development Associate credential.
• Ability to fulfill all DCFS requirements, including a physical, immunizations, and criminal background check.
• Must meet all requirements for childcare staff as defined by the DCFS.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel to families' homes, trainings, and meetings.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Ability to lift children.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
