About the position

The Homeless Services Housing Support Technician position is designed to support the homeless response system and Coordinated Entry Systems (CES) within the City of Oklahoma City. This role involves facilitating meetings, developing project policies, and ensuring effective data management to assist homeless individuals and families in accessing appropriate housing and supportive services.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and co-facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to support coordination and generate support for the project.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate case conferences with rehousing agencies and Coordinated Entry.
  • Support the development of project policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of referral, documentation, and enrollment processes.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to track performance outcomes and identify program issues.
  • Implement performance monitoring tools to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Provide technical assistance to rehousing agencies and project partners for performance improvement.
  • Assist the external Landlord Engagement team in securing rental units.
  • Manage grant compliance and support departmental efforts through collaboration and research.
  • Provide excellent customer service to partners in the Continuum of Care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher OR a minimum of one year experience working with vulnerable populations within a community.
  • Knowledge of housing options and eligibility requirements.
  • Familiarity with homelessness, housing models, and best practices in homeless services and housing placement.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to meet face-to-face with homeless individuals of diverse backgrounds and disabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Urban Planning, Business/Finance, Public Administration, Sociology or related field.
  • Knowledge and experience working with homelessness case management and housing models.
  • Knowledge of HUD grant requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office.
