About the position

As a Homeowner (State) Insurance Sr. Product Analyst at Hippo Insurance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and managing the state operations of the Homeowners line of business across your assigned states. This position is integral to the company's mission of delivering intuitive and proactive protection for homeowners, leveraging technology alongside a human touch. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including State Filings, Compliance, Legal, and Actuarial, to develop and execute strategies that align with company objectives related to compliance, growth, and profitability. Your responsibilities will include executing plans and tactics aimed at achieving compliance and profitability, as well as collaborating with the Actuarial and State Filings teams to support rate, rule, and form filings. You will also be responsible for updating filing and internal documents as needed to meet compliance requirements arising from both internal and external channels. Additionally, you will participate in nationwide or multi-state projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the projects align with regulatory standards and company goals. This role requires a proactive approach and a self-starter mentality, as you will be expected to manage your assigned work independently while partnering with stakeholders to implement statewide and nationwide insurance product changes. Strong analytical skills are essential, as you will be making data-driven decisions that impact the company's operations and compliance status.

Responsibilities

  • Help execute plans and tactics developed to achieve compliance, growth and profit
  • Collaborate with Actuarial and State Filings with supporting rate, rule, and form filings
  • Update filing and internal documents as directed for compliance related needs brought about thru internal and external channels
  • Participate in countrywide (or multi-state) projects from start to finish as directed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a business or analytical discipline
  • At least two years of personal lines insurance experience in a related position (underwriting, product, pricing, finance, etc.)
  • Ability to partner with stakeholders in execution of statewide and nationwide insurance product changes
  • Self-Starter mentality when it comes to proactively running with assigned work
  • Strong analytical skills supporting data driven decisions

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with a Top 20 Personal Lines Homeowners writer
  • Prior insurance experience in the Home line of business
