About the position

The Hook Tender position at Weyerhaeuser's Coos Bay Timberlands operation involves coordinating logging operations in a market-focused environment. This full-time role requires individuals to ensure safe and efficient logging practices while leading a crew and maintaining equipment. The position emphasizes safety, communication, and teamwork, contributing to the overall productivity of the logging operation.

Responsibilities

• Safely and competently coordinate logging operations.
• Make daily adjustments to maximize logging system output based on business needs such as weather, labor, and truck availability.
• Safely operate the tailhold cat or tailhold shovel on various slopes and soils.
• Perform and assist with equipment inspections and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs.
• Fulfill all Hook Tender responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience working in a logging environment with crew leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both individual and team environments.
• Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information.
