Hopkins and Company is seeking a talented and ambitious Human Resources Generalist to join our team of driven and enthusiastic hospitality professionals. In this role, the Human Resources Generalist will champion career development and benefits for our team, leading with integrity, discretion, and gracious hospitality. This position requires maintaining the confidentiality of human resources and financial data while interacting daily with our senior leadership team and managers. The Human Resources Generalist will play a crucial role in fostering positive employee experiences from the application process through the entire duration of employment. Key responsibilities include achieving staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising managers, coordinating the interview process, and executing strategic hiring plans to support company growth. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all employee benefit programs, both internal and external, and executing weekly payroll processing accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment; posting positions on various job boards, review of resumes and selection for interviews, set up of interviews for senior leadership
  • Leading administrative tasks such as registration of new employees in the payroll and HR system, preparatory payroll accounting, disciplinary proceedings, processing of departures
  • Contact person for managers in the recruitment process, orientation of new employees
  • Cooperation with external service providers in the areas of occupational safety, data protection, health care
  • Supporting the implementation, monitoring, compliance and enforcement of all company policies, procedures and standards as well as local laws
  • Processing of employee applications (employment certificates, communication with health insurance companies, etc.)
  • Collects new hire paperwork and I-9 document; verifies employment eligibility; processes background checks
  • Maintenance of employee data in the payroll and rota database
  • Planning and organization of employee events and orientation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of human resources management experience, with restaurant/hospitality experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/CHRL/CPHR Certification required
  • Payroll management systems experience required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook 365, and Excel
  • Strong financial management background
  • Excellent math, reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Bilingual preferred
