About the position

The Horticultural Installation Technician is responsible for the preparation and delivery of all horticultural products and seasonal décor to our clients. On a structured schedule with an allotted time, the Installation Technician makes deliveries throughout our service region. Duties may include receiving, unloading, and unpacking plants and other freight, selecting, cleaning, and preparing plants for installation routes, making deliveries of new installation work orders and/or replacement work orders, maintaining installation and color kits, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, vehicle washing and maintenance, and general property/facility maintenance. On a seasonal basis, the technician will assist with the delivery of holiday foliage and décor. The technician will be driving a company-owned vehicle and must possess a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload and unpack plants and other freight
• Select, clean and prepare plants for installation routes
• Make deliveries of new installation work orders and/or replacement work orders
• Maintain installation and color kits
• Load and unload delivery vehicles
• Vehicle washing and maintenance
• General property/facility maintenance
• Assist with delivery of holiday foliage and décor on a seasonal basis

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record
• Ability to lift 10 lb. water buckets and/or load and unload 50-75 lb. plants and containers throughout the day
• Ability to climb ladders and have good dexterous use of both hands
• Ability to use scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses, and other small tools
• Ability to apply leaf cleaners and insecticides using hand-held pump sprayers
• Must have a satisfactory safe driving record
• Ability to professionally communicate with clients and maintain a neat and clean appearance
• Ability to work a 10 hour day in varying greenhouse and/or office conditions
