About the position

The Hospice Administrator at First Health Hospice is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and compassionate, patient-centered care. This position requires a minimum of four years in hospice management and advanced knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, focusing on strategic growth and workforce accountability. The ideal candidate will foster efficiency, align communication, and champion a culture of excellence to support quality care and census expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and refine daily operations to maintain the highest care standards and service continuity.
  • Formulate and enforce policies aligned with state, federal, and regulatory mandates, ensuring constant compliance and readiness for state surveys.
  • Proactively engage with patient and family needs, promoting a dignified and compassionate environment.
  • Sustain impeccable Medicare/Medicaid compliance, ensuring daily survey readiness and surpassing the Medicare Conditions of Participation.
  • Perform internal audits and quality checks to maintain the organization's adherence to regulatory benchmarks.
  • Lead survey-related initiatives, ensuring documentation is precise, complete, and easily accessible.
  • Inspire accountability across teams through measurable performance standards, regular evaluations, and targeted coaching.
  • Employ motivational strategies and constructive feedback to drive productivity, enhance teamwork, and elevate service quality.
  • Develop robust tracking mechanisms to monitor productivity and quality; refine workflows to eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks, streamlining procedures to bolster resource utilization and patient care.
  • Drive cohesive internal communication, ensuring transparent and aligned organizational objectives.
  • Strategize census growth, cultivating relationships with referral sources and leveraging community engagement to expand reach and awareness.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary team leaders to deliver cohesive patient care.
  • Nurture a collaborative, problem-solving culture that prioritizes team cohesion and cross-departmental synergy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of hospice administration experience.
  • Proficient in Medicare/Medicaid regulations, survey readiness, and hospice Conditions of Participation.
  • Demonstrated success in driving accountability, operational efficiency, and census growth.
