About the position
The Hospice Chaplain at Samaritan Health Services provides spiritual, religious, and emotional care to patients, families, staff, and community members during the final stages of illness. This role is integral to the hospice team, which supports patients in various settings, including homes and care facilities, ensuring comprehensive care that includes counseling, spiritual support, and bereavement services.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual, religious, and emotional care to patients and families.
- Support hospice teams in delivering care in home settings and facilities.
- Conduct counseling and guidance for patients and family groups.
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by a pastoral/spiritual community.
- Experience or training in pastoral/spiritual care.
- Valid driver's license and auto liability/property damage insurance.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Records Check.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in pediatrics and geriatrics.
