About the position
The Hospice Community Liaison is a full-time role focused on promoting hospice services and building relationships within the medical community. This position is essential for increasing patient referrals and enhancing the hospice's reputation as a premier provider of end-of-life care. The Liaison will engage with healthcare professionals and the community to ensure a steady flow of referrals and maintain strong partnerships with existing sources.
Responsibilities
- Determine primary decision makers and proactively build positive relationships with members of the medical community and partners.
- Promote and position hospice patient care services through regular visits that reflect the quality of care and unique capabilities of the hospice.
- Build the brand of the hospice as the preferred provider in the service area to achieve growth and census management goals.
- Make regular, planned calls to secure new referrals and meet established goals with referring physicians, facilities, case managers, and other healthcare providers.
- Conduct initial meetings with patients and families to provide an overview of hospice services and obtain consents for care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with additional experience substituting for educational requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales/marketing experience in healthcare.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in hospice/palliative marketing strongly preferred.
- Skilled at establishing and maintaining working relationships with key staff and healthcare providers.
