About the position

The Hospice Community Relations Representative plays a crucial role in community-based business development and relationship management at a facility level. This position is focused on driving census development, enhancing community integration, and ensuring excellent customer service. The representative may support multiple facilities within a defined local market area, working to establish and maintain key relationships within the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and qualifies new business opportunities within hospitals and healthcare centers.
  • Calls on potential new key accounts in the healthcare field.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Develops and executes tactics to maximize admissions of residents requiring a sub-acute level of care, including regular contact with potential referral sources such as hospitals, physicians, insurers, case management companies, and healthcare agencies.
  • Communicates and provides support to help execute marketing campaigns and plans.
  • Establishes strategic marketing plans to achieve occupancy objectives.
  • Supports best practices by sharing information with other Community Relations Representatives.
  • Inputs/tracks account information and marketing activity and completes weekly/monthly/quarterly reports in specified format. Keeps abreast of industry trends/competitive activity and updates information as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-5 years' experience in Healthcare Sales/Marketing or equivalent combination of experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to travel on day trips to local healthcare institutions.
  • Demonstration of the principles of the sales process in the post-acute and assisted living pharmacy environment.
  • Ability to manage a territory, conduct sales calls and presentations, and generate new business opportunities.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
  • Experience with CRM or SalesForce required.
  • Self-starter and result-oriented individual.
