The Hospice Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring that the care provided by the hospice staff meets the established standards of quality and compliance. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring staff processes and policies to ensure adherence to the standards of care. The QA Nurse will oversee the quality assurance of all skilled nursing documentation, which includes but is not limited to the Start of Care (SOC), Resumption of Care (ROC), Recertification (RECERT), Discharge (DC) documentation, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) notes, Plans of Care, physician orders, Chaplain notes, and social worker notes. In addition to documentation oversight, the QA Nurse will conduct historical and routine audits to assess compliance and quality of care. This role also involves monitoring and completing all reports necessary for the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, attending routine QAPI meetings, and maintaining hospital logs while effectively communicating with the healthcare team. The QA Nurse will be responsible for faxing any required documentation to coordinate patient care and will monitor various tracking logs, including those for Infection Control, On-Call services, complaints, and incident reports. Furthermore, the QA Nurse will prepare, send out, and follow up on past due reports to ensure timely resolution of issues. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and a thorough understanding of state and federal regulations governing hospice care. The role is full-time, with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, and may involve on-call responsibilities as needed.
