About the position

The Hospice Sales Director at Silverado Hospice is responsible for leading the business development efforts in the San Diego area, focusing on providing dignified and compassionate end-of-life care. This role involves overseeing sales management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving optimal sales performance through effective coaching and relationship management. The position requires a strong commitment to the values and mission of Silverado Hospice, as well as the ability to work independently in a challenging healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall direction, oversight, and expertise in sales management of the local territories.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing sales referrals and sales-related activities.
  • Assists in recruiting, hiring, and training of sales staff.
  • Establishes clear direction by effectively communicating organizational sales goals and priorities to Hospice Liaisons and Clinical Liaisons.
  • Monitors and tracks performance of Hospice Liaisons, implementing interventions to drive optimal sales performance.
  • Maintains a disciplined approach to sales management duties, including regular calls and meetings.
  • Effectively utilizes CRM to maintain and develop sales territories.
  • Coaches Hospice Liaisons to identify key referral sources and manage accounts to grow business.
  • Collaborates with operations on budgeting and enhancing Silverado Hospice's brand in the community.
  • Manages an individual book of business within a specified territory for consistent productivity.
  • Champions disease pathway programs for implementation and execution.
  • Collaborates with Silverado Senior Living partners for hospice educational outreach and internal sales opportunities.
  • Complies with legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA and Documentation Standards.
  • Conducts outside sales calls to potential and existing referral sources, meeting sales quotas.

Requirements

  • Home Health and/or Hospice sales leadership preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year healthcare sales management required.
  • Proven ability to manage a sales territory and contact database.
  • A minimum of 2 years of Hospice sales experience required.
  • LVN or RN license is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in hospice/home health/senior living/skilled nursing and hospital systems.
  • Proven ability to generate and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and willingness to drive to patient's location.
  • Must clear a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening.
