About the position

The Hospice Specialist Marketing position at AdventHealth is a vital role focused on promoting hospice services within the communities of Volusia and Flagler Counties. This position is designed for a professional who is passionate about healthcare marketing and is committed to building relationships that enhance the referral process for hospice care. The specialist will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that effectively communicate the mission and vision of hospice services to various stakeholders, including hospital staff, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and local physicians. The role requires a proactive approach to networking and relationship-building, ensuring that potential patients and their caregivers are informed about the hospice services available to them. In this role, the Hospice Specialist will engage in direct sales and marketing efforts, utilizing marketing materials to maintain a strong presence in the assigned geographic area. This includes conducting educational events such as “Lunch and Learn” sessions to inform referral sources about the hospice services offered. The specialist will also attend networking and medical professional meetings to represent the hospice program and foster connections that can lead to increased referrals. Additionally, the role involves meeting with family members of potential hospice patients, providing them with necessary information and consent forms to facilitate the admission process when appropriate. The position is full-time, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, and is field-based, requiring travel within the designated counties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marketing, particularly within the healthcare sector, and will be equipped with the skills necessary to effectively communicate the value of hospice care to various audiences. Responsibilities

  • Provides direct sales and marketing within an assigned geographic area to physicians and their staff, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities.
  • Develops and nourishes relationships with persons who may influence the referral of patients and their caregivers to the Hospice of the Comforter program.
  • Utilizes marketing collaterals to maintain a presence in the facilities and provides brochures and additional information for dissemination to those with potential hospice needs.
  • Conducts 'Lunch and Learn' events for referral sources to inform and educate clients and customers about Hospice, its services, mission, and vision.
  • Attends networking/medical professional meetings to represent Hospice, as needed.
  • Meets with family members of patients with potential needs for hospice and provides family with consent forms and gets forms signed when they agree to admit the patient to Hospice services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, healthcare, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years marketing experience is required.
  • Healthcare and/or hospice experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Communications and Public Relations procedures.
  • Knowledge (intermediate to advanced) of the sales process.
