About the position

As the Hospice Volunteer Services and Community Outreach Manager at AccentCare, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families through compassionate care and community engagement. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and are committed to providing exceptional service in the hospice care environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the volunteer services program, ensuring that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained, and supported in their roles. In addition to managing volunteer services, you will also lead community outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness about hospice care and the services provided by AccentCare. This will involve collaborating with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders to promote hospice services and engage the community in meaningful ways. You will be tasked with developing and implementing outreach strategies that resonate with diverse populations, ensuring that the message of compassionate care reaches those who need it most. Your role will also include administrative responsibilities such as tracking volunteer hours, managing budgets for outreach programs, and reporting on the effectiveness of community engagement efforts. You will work closely with other departments to ensure that the volunteer program is integrated into the overall care model, enhancing the patient experience and supporting the goals of the organization. This position requires a strong commitment to excellence, a collaborative spirit, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of hospice patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of hospice volunteers.
  • Develop and implement community outreach programs to raise awareness about hospice services.
  • Collaborate with local organizations and healthcare providers to promote hospice care.
  • Track and report on volunteer hours and program effectiveness.
  • Manage budgets for outreach initiatives and volunteer programs.
  • Ensure that volunteer services are integrated into the overall patient care model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare, human services, or a similar agency.
  • 2+ years of management or supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Must have a reliable automobile and valid driver's license with the minimum state-required liability auto insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Psychosocial board-certification or licensure, preferred.
