Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Escort residents to and from dining areas and other facility locations as directed.
• Serve and prepare residents' trays according to their needs, including organizing food and assisting with meal consumption.
• Remove trays from dining and unit areas after meals and place them on trucks for return to the kitchen.
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, visitors, families, and care providers.
• Report pertinent information regarding resident care to the nurse.
• Offer snacks and serve nourishment at designated times, and provide water as requested.
• Acknowledge and respect the rights of residents while providing care.
• Utilize infection control and body substance isolation techniques as per policy.
• Maintain safety for residents and within their environment.
• Perform other unit duties such as bed making, engaging residents in activities, and tidying the environment.
