About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Mercy Ascension is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the hospital. This position involves collaborating with the hospital's executive team to achieve financial goals, manage financial planning, and implement data-driven decision-making processes. The CFO will also monitor financial performance and contribute to organizational performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial operations of the hospital site as a member of the executive team.
  • Collaborate with the hospital President and VP of nursing to achieve financial goals.
  • Oversee and manage financial planning, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Support the development and improvement of data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify potential impacts on operations, healthcare, human resources, and quality of care.
  • Contribute to monitoring financial performance and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain reasonable and appropriate financial plans and forecasts.
  • Provide guidance on expense management, productivity, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and capital planning.
  • Coordinate with the finance team for major projects and system initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with 3 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience, or 7 years of applicable job-specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Hospital experience required.
