About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Optim Health System is responsible for directing the financial planning and accounting practices of the organization. This role involves overseeing various financial departments, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and maintaining relationships with lending institutions and pay sources. The CFO plays a crucial role in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial reporting, contributing to the overall financial stability and growth of the health system.

Responsibilities

• Direct the organization's financial planning and accounting practices.
• Oversee budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, long-range forecasting, and insurance activities.
• Evaluate the organization's financial position and issue periodic reports on financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
• Assure implementation of internal controls and generally accepted accounting procedures.
• Supervise the revenue department and analyze costs to make rate recommendations.
• Prepare and issue the organization's annual tax and other reports.
• Prepare or review financial statements for the Board.
• Assist in achieving the organization's mission and executing staff succession and growth plans.
• Train Finance and other staff on financial management matters.
• Work with the CEO on strategic vision and contract negotiations.
• Participate in developing new business opportunities and drafting prospective budgets.
• Oversee fiscal reporting activities and all purchasing activity.
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
• Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Eight to ten years of experience in financial/accounting management.
• Experience in healthcare financial management required.
