About the position

The Hospital Director of Operations for Ethos Veterinary Health in Magnolia, TX, is a leadership role focused on overseeing the operations of an emergency veterinary hospital. This position requires a strategic visionary with a strong background in veterinary medicine and operations management, who can inspire and empower a dedicated team to deliver exceptional care. The director will be responsible for financial management, team leadership, and fostering a positive work environment while ensuring the hospital meets its clinical and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Directly oversee all operations and business activities, leading team members across all departments.
  • Partner effectively and collaboratively with the Medical Director to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Translate vision into actionable plans and manage operations to achieve objectives.
  • Organize and conduct engaging staff meetings and evaluate the welfare of the practice.
  • Shape a positive hospital culture based on trust and teamwork.
  • Oversee recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff in conjunction with the Medical Director.
  • Monitor employee competence and effectiveness through feedback and observation.
  • Collaborate on the recruitment and hiring of doctors with the Medical Director.
  • Establish optimal medical care while maintaining the hospital's financial health.
  • Provide resources, support, and supervision for hospital staff.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive operational management experience with a record of success, including managing a P&L.
  • Business degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Management experience in the veterinary medicine industry preferred; candidates from human healthcare with a passion for animal welfare are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to learn quickly and absorb new information rapidly.
  • Self-motivated with expertise in motivating, coaching, and inspiring others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
