About the position
The Hospital Engineer - Facilities at PeaceHealth is responsible for maintaining a variety of plant equipment and healthcare systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and code-compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves performing repairs, responding to emergencies, and coordinating vendor services, all while adhering to hospital standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains facilities, equipment, and utility systems to optimize a safe and healing environment.
- Responds to and resolves alarm or emergency situations involving utility systems and general facility equipment.
- Makes daily rounds for maintenance work and performs repairs according to department procedures.
- Coordinates and oversees outside vendor service to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
- Documents activities to accomplish departmental goals and ensure efficient operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of building/plant maintenance training through trade school, apprenticeship, or military training, or an Associate Degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital maintenance or industrial/commercial building/plant maintenance.
