About the position
The Hospital Engineer - Facilities position at PeaceHealth is a Per Diem/Relief role responsible for maintaining a variety of plant equipment and healthcare systems within the hospital. The engineer ensures a safe, compliant, and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff by performing repairs and maintenance on facilities, equipment, and utility systems. This role requires responding to emergencies, coordinating vendor services, and performing daily maintenance rounds.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains facilities, equipment, and utility systems to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
- Responds to and resolves alarm or emergency situations involving utility systems and general facility equipment.
- Makes daily rounds in areas of responsibility for maintenance work and performs repairs according to department procedures.
- Coordinates and oversees outside vendor service to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
- Documents activities to accomplish departmental goals and ensure efficient operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of building/plant maintenance training through trade school, apprenticeship, or military training, or an Associate Degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital maintenance or industrial/commercial building maintenance.
Nice-to-haves
