About the position

The Hospital Payment Analyst position at TennCare involves managing and implementing supplemental payments to Tennessee hospitals. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial sustainability of hospitals within the state and requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Director of Hospital Reimbursement and the Tennessee Hospital Association. The position is part of TennCare's fiscal division, which oversees the agency's budget and fiscal processes, aiming to deliver cost-effective healthcare to low-income individuals in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Hospital Reimbursement with the oversight of TennCare's hospital supplemental payment program.
  • Perform calculations for quarterly and annual supplemental payments to hospitals.
  • Conduct in-depth hospital financial calculations to ensure financial sustainability of Tennessee hospitals.
  • Ensure timely collection of hospital assessments.
  • Communicate directly with hospitals and the Tennessee Hospital Association regarding hospital supplemental payments.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in statistics, applied statistics, social or behavioral sciences, health sciences, business, business administration, or public policy and experience equivalent to two years full-time professional work developing research methodology and/or directing statistical research.
  • Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate course work from an accredited college or university in relevant fields may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in relevant fields and experience equivalent to five years full-time professional work developing research methodology and/or directing statistical research.
